Connect Simma to ChatGPT

Simma is listed in the ChatGPT Plugin Directory, the one catalogue that ChatGPT and Codex share. Install it from there, connect, and your training is in the conversation. A coach gets their whole squad and an athlete gets their own sessions, with the same reads, writes and safety gates as in Claude.

You do not need a Simma account first. Connecting creates one.

Step by step

  1. Open Simma in the Plugin Directory: chatgpt.com/plugins/…. Or open Plugins in ChatGPT's sidebar, on web, desktop or mobile, and search for Simma.
  2. Install, then Connect. ChatGPT opens Simma's sign-in page in your browser.
  3. Sign in, or sign up. If you already use Simma, sign in with that email and password. If not, choose sign up on the same page: an email, a password, and the code Simma emails you to confirm it.
  4. Say who you are. New accounts get one short screen: I coach athletes, or I train. A coach enters their name and, optionally, the business name athletes will see. An athlete enters their name and their levels in the sports they do, then can link Garmin on the spot. Turn on Historical data on Garmin's page so the last sixteen weeks load straight away.
  5. Back to ChatGPT. The last button returns you signed in. Start a new conversation and ask. If ChatGPT does not reach for Simma on its own, name it in the question.

There is nothing to paste and no address to remember.

Plans and workspaces

OpenAI says the directory is available across ChatGPT plans, and that whether you can install a given plugin depends on your plan, workspace, role and region. We have run Simma end to end on a Business seat. We have not tried every plan; if Simma does not appear in the directory for you, tell us which plan you are on and we will say what we find.

In a Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace the admin controls plugins under Workspace settings → Plugins. A plugin set to Available can be installed by eligible members; Installed puts it on everyone's list; Disabled by admin is what you see when it has been held back. If Simma shows that label, your admin is the person to ask.

In Codex

The same listing works in Codex. In a task view open Sources, choose Use plugins, and pick Simma. Directory changes can take up to six hours to show there.

Your first questions

If you're a coach:

"Who in my squad needs attention this week?"

"Give me the full picture on Sarah before I write to her."

"Show me every swim this month where the main set faded."

If you're an athlete:

"How is my training going?"

"Walk me through my last long ride."

"What does my plan have me doing this week, and what have I done so far?"

A coach's athletes

Coaches see the athletes on their squad. An athlete joins a squad with the coach's invite code, which ChatGPT can hand out on the coach's behalf ("what's my invite code?") and an athlete can use from their own ChatGPT ("join my coach with code …"). Until an athlete has a coach of their own, Simma's house coach account holds them, so their training is never orphaned.

Approvals, and sending messages

ChatGPT asks before a plugin does something the first time, and you can set how often it asks under Settings. The tools that only read your data are marked read-only, so ChatGPT can tell them apart from the ones that change something.

The one action that is never silent is sending a message. Before a coach's draft goes to an athlete, or an athlete's message goes to their coach, Simma asks for the full text to be confirmed. Where ChatGPT can show that prompt in the conversation, you answer it there. Where it cannot, ChatGPT has to quote the draft's exact subject line back to Simma before anything goes, and ChatGPT's own approval step shows you the tool's arguments. Read them. If the prompt is shown and then fails, nothing is sent.

Signing out, or switching accounts

Every time you connect, Simma asks you to sign in afresh, so switching between accounts is disconnecting and connecting again. On a shared computer, ask ChatGPT to sign you out of Simma and it will give you the link that does it.

Adding Simma by URL instead

If your workspace manages its own connectors, or you would rather add Simma as a custom connector, the address is:

Paste it as a new connector, choose OAuth, and leave the client fields alone; Simma registers the client itself. The sign-in and sign-up are the same as above. Simma is also on the official MCP Registry as com.getsimma/simma.

Who can see what

Your conversation with ChatGPT stays between you and OpenAI. Simma sees requests for data, never the words around them. The only thing that reaches another person is a message you deliberately send.

OpenAI processes your conversation under its own terms. An athlete without a coach of their own is attached to Simma's house coach account, which can read their training data as any coach can; see the privacy policy.
